Like a screwdriver made with bottom-shelf vodka, Sugar Ray boasts that "almost drinkable" quality that you just can't refuse on a hot summer's day. Lead by the ever-so photogenic heartthrob Mark McGrath, these Orange County cronies transformed from a heavy metal punk band into a poppy, radio-friendly rock outlet over the course of their career. 1997's Floored carried the happy-go-lucky hit "Fly" which sent the rockers into mainstream maniacal mode. Given "Fly's" overexposure, many critics predicted the song would turn out to be the band's first and last hit. Lucky for Ray, however, cranking out catchy grooves is a recurring talent and keeps them far from one-hit-wonderville.
