1994 saw British band Oasis go from nobodies to Jagger-esque somebodies with the release of their first album Definitely Maybe. The alternative rockers possessed the ultimate in elements needed for rock and roll success: catchy songwriting skills and a set of cocky, good looking brothers. The music was solid, and the side stories of inner band turmoil, set-tos with record labels and scathing sarcastic attitudes made them the rock kings of England and super stars in the United States in the 1990s.
