One may spot mention of Freedom Highway on a few handbills from the1960s, but don't expect to buy one of the band's albums. Like many of the popular psychedelic groups of the time, Freedom Highway never released an album despite their habit of playing multiple live gigs. They did, however, record sessions in '68 and '69 that resurfaced for a 2002 release titled Made in '68. The group was short-lived, but several members continued to frequent Bay Area bands. Singer David Schallock went on to play with Big Brother & the Holding Company and the Sons of Champlin. Guitarist/singer Gary Phipippet joined Copperhead and Earthquake and drummer/singer Bruce Brymer played with Melton, Levy & the Dey Bros. and the Ducks.
